Reminiscent of Nipper the dog, a mixed breed terrier, probably part Jack Russell Terrier or Fox Terrier who become an iconic image in the music and broadcasting industry after the painting His Master's Voice by Francis Barraud, became the symbol of quality for Victor Talking Machine Company around the turn of 20th century. In the painting, His Master's Voice, Nipper the dog can be seen listening intently, with his head tilted to the side, to the voice of his late owner through a phonograph.
